Norville Vehicle Hire Limited trading as National Van Hire
("National Van Hire", "we", "us", "our")

These Terms & Conditions govern all vehicle rentals provided by National Van Hire. By hiring a vehicle, the customer ("you", "your", "the hirer") agrees to the following terms.

    • Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
    • Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
    • Closed Sundays & Bank Holidays
  1. Driver Requirements
  • Minimum age: [insert age, usually 21 or 25 depending on insurance].
  • Full valid UK driving licence held for at least [insert duration, usually 12–24 months].
  • Additional ID and proof of address may be required.
  • Only authorised drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
  1. Security Deposit
  • A refundable security deposit is required at the start of the hire.
  • Deposits are held on a credit/debit card.
  • Refunds are processed after vehicle inspection, usually within 72 working hours, subject to your bank’s processing times.
  • Deductions may be made for: fuel shortages, damage, late return, additional mileage, or unpaid charges.
  1. Rental Period
  • Hire begins and ends at the times stated in your rental agreement.
  • Late returns may incur additional charges.
  • Extensions must be agreed in advance and are subject to availability.
  1. Mileage Policy
  • Standard allowance: 150 miles per day included.
  • Additional mileage charged at £0.20 per mile.
  • Unlimited mileage options may be available by prior agreement.
  1. Fuel Policy
  • Vehicles are supplied with a set level of fuel and must be returned with the same amount.
  • A refuelling charge applies if the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at the start of hire.
  1. Insurance & Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
  • All rentals include standard insurance cover (excess applies).
  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available at an additional cost to reduce excess liability.
  • Insurance does not cover: negligence, prohibited use (see section 9), or damage to tyres, glass, and interior unless CDW purchased.
  1. Delivery & Collection
  • Delivery and collection services are available upon request and subject to additional charges.
  • Vehicles must be inspected with our driver at both delivery and collection.
  1. Vehicle Use Restrictions

Vehicles must not be used for:

  • Carrying passengers for hire or reward.
  • Towing without permission.
  • Racing, pace-making, or off-road driving.
  • Transporting hazardous goods.
  • Any illegal purpose.

Failure to comply may void insurance and deposit.

  1. Hirer’s Responsibilities
  • Check and sign the condition report at collection.
  • Keep the vehicle locked and secured when unattended.
  • Pay for congestion charges, tolls, fines, parking tickets, and penalties incurred during hire.
  • Report accidents or damage immediately.
  1. Breakdown & Accidents
  • In the event of a breakdown, contact our office immediately.
  • In the event of an accident, you must notify us and the police if required, and complete an accident report form.
  1. Cancellations & No Shows
  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the hire start time to avoid charges.
  • No-shows or late cancellations may incur up to 100% of the rental fee.
  1. Liability
  • We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle.
  • Our liability is limited to the rental charges paid, except where law requires otherwise.
  1. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
